Description
Smart Water has been designed from the ground up to be as much flexible as possible. With Smart Water you can easily add convincing professional looking water to your project in a matter of minutes, without having to edit any scripts. The Editor is fun to use and you can experiment in game or in editor until you find the right setting, and save you result as a prefab for later use. Smart Water is the water every Unity developer is waiting for.
Smart Water for Mobile is the first water made specifically for the first generation of iPhone 2G, 3G. Of course it is working with the new generation as well with 5 different shaders that can be set at runtime, so that you can make an universal application that will select the right water without having to make different builds… The good news is that it is totally compatible with Smart Water basic. Actually it is an extension of SmartWater Basic. Most parameters are interpolated automatically. So you can use the same water presets, prefabs, underwater, multiple water for all platforms. To switch from one platform to another, just select it in a drop down menu, and that’s it. You can even select it in game if your game is universal and you want to use different water shaders for different Mobile Phones.Features

Speed
Smart Water should have a setting in your preference, so that the customer can adjust the right shader to his device. Smart Water is a little bit in advance and is giving you the possibility to have an edge on the competition with a beautiful water. It is advised to use the Open GL 1.1 version of the water on 3GS and iPhone4 devices because their shader system is a little bit retarded and cannot handle all the OpenGL ES 2 instruction at a decent speed.

I just bought Smart Water via the asset store. It’s incomplete. I just cannot follow the tutorial in the PDF as the Tropical prefab is not in the package. not texture, incomplete.

I bought smart water and smart water mobile but the performance on my iPad and iPhone 4 are about 10fps in some demo scenes, is there are way to improve this please?
First thing, did you removed the Terrain? Because the terrain is killing the performances on mobile phone. Are you using the mobile demo scenes?
In general the iPhone4 uses the same GPU as the iPad 1, the iPhone 4S uses the same GPU of the iPad2.
With iPhone 4S, and iPad2 the OpenGL 2 water shader uses less than 1 FPS in your game. But on iPad 1, it takes a lot more. I suggest to have an option for the performance in your game so that the customer can switch from the OpenGL 2 to OpenGL 1 if the performances are too slow. I tried everything but the shaders are very slow on iPad 1, as soon as I add reflection, or refraction, the performance are dropping. Most shaders on these machines have to be very simple to use low FPS (even a bump mapping is costly).
